An error-filled performance doomed Roger Federer, who lost in three sets to Tomas Berdych in their fourth-round match Tuesday, March 30. In their last nine encounters Federer has defeated Berdych all previous 8 times. Federer's defeat means the top three men's seeds have all been knocked out after Serbia's Novak Djokovic and Britain's Andy Murray both suffered shock defeats earlier in the tournament. With this number of top seed upsets, the Sony Ericsson Open is beginning to look a bit more like the NCAA Championship brackets.
