Big East Tournament Upset Alert!

THE CURSE OF THE DOUBLE BYE

Former number 1 team Syracuse has now lost 2 in a row for the first time all year. After losing to Louisville in their stadiums final game the Cuse followed that performance up with a lost to spirited Georgetown team. If you missed this game because of work you need to be on ESPN 360. A 19-2 run in the second half helped Georgetown get back in the game and take a lead. Have teams found the vulnerability in the Cuse 2-3 zone and their short bench (Only play 7 players). Did I mention Onuaku went down with a knee injury. This could spell trouble. As I hype this up as a huge upset I must remind people that Georgetown is the number 22 team in the country and has beaten a number of good teams including a blowout of Duke in DC.

Just now Number 4 seed Villanova also bit the dust. Top seeds are falling like flies in the qtr finals of the big east tournament. Georgetown and Marquette in the first Big East Semi-Final tomorrow night. Not many people saw that one coming.

The dream matchups that people have been waiting for all weej are not going to happen. Number 15 and number 3 seed Pitt becoming the third top seeded victim of the day falling to Notre Dame. Notre Dame is now off the bubble and the Big East tournament is now shot. Georgetown, Marquette and Notre Dame have crashed the party. Maybe the double bye is cursed. In the last 2 years teams with double byes have gone 2-5. I would be surprised to see it make another appearance next year.

Only number 2 seed WVU has a chance to make it through.
